SO relieved to read this and see that you have made it safely out – was really, really worried about you and the radio silence. I do hope that Yulia is with you now and that you can breathe easily again. I spent a good deal of time in Russia during the Soviet era (deeply loved it) and I understood how strict (not exactly the right word, but it will do) things could be then, but I never, ever thought times would become as crazy, as horrific as they are now. I keep thinking this can’t be real. I so very much hope this can end and you and Yulia can return to Russia, go back to traveling around the countryside and reminding us all how stunningly beautiful it is. Thank you for that glimpse of beauty of the mountains.
