Я не понимаю, откуда взялось слово гомофобия. На мой взгляд, гомосексуалистов никто не боится, но отвращение может быть. Они гетерофобны?
Меня не волнует чья-то интимная жизнь, если только это не изнасилование или педофилия. Каждый имеет право быть удовлетворенным по-своему, но мне почему-то кажется, что гомосексуальность и ЛГБТ-сообщество агресивнно продвигаются.
Два года назад параллельно с парадами ЛГБТ прошла литания церкви, с помощью которой они продвигали традиционные ценности. И, что удивительно, негативная критика была направлена только в адрес церкви.
Я считаю, что ЛГБТ не подвергаются дискриминации. Их сообщество становится сильнее, и их сторонники часто находятся на вершине многих компаний. Есть, как у всех, страхование здоровья, пенсионное страхование … единственное, у них не может быть детей, но это уже не социальная проблема, а биологическая.

Извините, но биологческие барьеры на пути к рождению детей у однополых пар отсутствуют, если хочят, только социальные.

@Julijana, I agree with you. I will avoid using the word “normal” despite the Merriam Webster definition “characterized by that which is considered usual, typical, or routine”. I am straight so to speak. I have children as well and I let them learn Russian.
When I turn on a Russian Children Program, I know I do not need to monitor. Something I can’t enjoy in my own country with our national channels, and this because of a minority. I wonder why this group so desperately need to appropriate “normality”: We should see them everywhere and whenever we say enough we get called names…
Someone dared go so far as telling you that there is no natural limitation, only cultural/societal. Really? I can probably get a third eye in the middle of my forehead as well. We just need to pick it from a healthy person and we can probably transplant it somehow. 99% this kind of eccentricity is now possible provided you pay enough.
What would you then think of me if I want to be called normal with my third eye? I would then tell you I can NATURALLY have a third eye, and it is thirdeyeophobia. I am discriminated against because people look at me weirdly (why did I get this third eye in the first place, you wonder). I need special provisions in the law…
Lets move down there… Do I, now, mind if some gigolo got himself an extra pair of “eggs”? He can even make some claims to the “ladies” who agree to listen to him… I wouldn’t bother, right?
What is the difference? He kept it in his trousers. Didn’t call it “normal” quite to the contrary…
I ask the same from “these people” however they want to get called. Is that a phobia? I call this realism and respect.

У нас в Хьюстоне много гомосексуалистов. У меня много друзей-гомосексуалистов. Конечно, я этого не понимаю, и это действительно странно для меня, но они просто люди. Многие из них гораздо более приятные люди, чем натуралы.
A good story about knowing your audience. The American car company Chevrolet decided to introduce one of its cars to South American. In English the car is called a Nova – it means a bright star. They took it to South American and used the same name. The problem is that no va – means “no go” in Spanish and the car was a failure down there.
So, know your audience.
I have a lot of theories about life. This one I have gathered much evidence for in my life. Things that are not ordinary in our reality; things that are different or strange; we fear these things. I think this is biological. So, it is natural to fear homosexuals. I was that way when I was young. You two are educated. You have been to universities where homosexuals are more open about their identity. This was my experience. I was in the university band and so we had many, many homosexuals. As you experience them you lose your fear. A good analogy is the fear of spiders or snakes. Once you learn, you know when not to be afraid. I had not heard of this company nor of this controversy. So, thanks for the story and I learned many new words today!

У нас в Бразилии такой консервативный президент но, тем не менее в последнее месяце были очень много поддержки на ЛГБТ гордости движения, как на пример, огромная реклама от саммой большой компании интернет-бизнеса в латинской америке, то есть, меркадо ливре, что означает Свободный Маркет. You ask what we think. I believe that a normal company made inadvertently an add that was wrongly understood and polarised and they straightened it so people understood there was no underlying intention, especially not the intention to break the law. Eventually, some LGBT must have felt like S… that even a popular brand decided to “abandon” them, when actually it is all just because of the bubble activists created.
I think it is frightening to see how people live by their own made up reality of witch hunters everywhere. I believe there is a psychological pathology for this… Never mind.
I came across this through Spotify, I saw some podcast about listening to Russian in order to improve your Russian. I first thought great! something for me.
Then I checked the list of subjects and I was like “woaw” is it about teaching Russian or about criticizing Russia? So many controversial topics. Isn’t there anything else you might want to tell us, for a change? When I see 7 comments, it says a lot about the non existing audience. They must have run away like myself! Maybe we just want to hear normal things about a normal country. Maybe actually, if we started to learn Russian it was because of a genuine interest in the Russian Folk, the Russian History and looking way beyond the useless polarised actuality…

Во-вторых, у меня нет цели критиковать Россию. Я здесь живу, и я люблю эту страну. Однако я говорю о тех вопросах, о которых меня спрашивают, о которых мне пишут и о том, что волнует меня самого.

@Bernard-clabots, you make an interesting point about being neutral about a country when learning a language but I think that has much to do with personal preference. Even culture and history can be contentious if you start to analyse how it came about. I find myself more engrossed in learning Russian exactly because the topics Max covers are so real. Max’s podcasts provide a good balance of information, analysis, and opportunities to learn beyond what you can find in a textbook or the dictionary. I only wish I could write this in Russian.
You may not want to call it homophobia or discrimination, there surely is a lot of hatred around, and all this because these people appeared in an advertisement https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/aug/05/russian-gay-family-in-controversial-ad-flee-to-spain-after-threats Yes it could happen in other countries too – homosexuals are abused, vilified, insulted, humiliated and beaten up for what they are even in gay Amsterdam. I would call that homophobia.
Oh, and I think Max you’re doing a great job discussing such a variety of topics about the real world we live in, and in a restrained and balanced way too. I first learned to read Russian in the time of the Iron Curtain and the scarce contemporary reading materials we got out of the Soviet Union were all very positive – no disasters, none of the diseases you find in the West, no poverty, no mismanagement, no corruption, no discrimination either, obviously. Immensely boring texts, all using the same structure and vocabulary, and uninformative by nature as everything that did not fit the mold was simply left out. Now, 40 years later, I get to see a glimpse of life in Russia, thanks to your podcasts and videos. Kudos to you!
Спасибо за очень интересыи ролик. Недавно я прочитал Мастера и Маргариты. Там Булгаков написал ”Трусость — самый страшный порок”. Я верю третий вариант (коека-кая власть позвонила а они испугались). Кажется пропаганда никак не может изменить сексуалной ориентации, итак закони против пропаганды гомосексуализма совсем нелепй. Такие закони только распространяют невежество и несчастье.
Говорят, что любая реклама – это хорошая реклама. Интересно, как этот инцидент повлиял на их прибыль.
